Artificial intelligence entered the world of education thanks to Futura, a highly successful startup that has benefited from a €1.8 million seed round. Among the business angels supporting the project is Attilio Mazzilli, a partner at Orrick.
But what does Futura consist of? Founded by three under-25s, it was established in 2020 with the aim of harnessing new technologies to create an AI capable of designing personalized learning paths for students. The process of studying and learning thus becomes more effective and faster. Specifically, the goal is to pass university admission tests and tutoring, offering courses run by selected instructors and tailored paths to meet individual needs. The subscription is on a monthly basis.
The startup, supported by Attilio Mazzilli, starts by testing each individual’s skills and then creates a personalized study plan. In less than two years, Futura has achieved remarkable results, with over 1,500 enrolled students and an average monthly growth of 20%. The team has grown from three members to 15. This success has attracted the interest of major national and international investors, such as United Ventures, Exor Seeds, Ithaca Ventures, and LVenture Group.
The focus is now on internationalisation, so as to become a reference point in Europe in test preparation and tutoring, quadrupling turnover by 2022.
CEO Andrea Chirolli looks forward to the coming months with enthusiasm, feeling proud of the competent and passionate team that has made this successful project possible.
