Danieli Group strengthens its leadership in China: six-high cold-finishing mill for copper in Shanxi

Danieli Group consolidates its presence in China with new contracts that highlight the reliability of the Italian company in the metal industry.

After the agreement with the giant Shougang for the supply of an electric furnace to the Qian’an Steel plant, in the province of Hebei, which will be used for the production of green steel intended for the automotive sector, the Group based in Buttrio also strengthens its foothold in processing technologies for copper alloys.

Recently, Danieli Group has celebrated the commissioning of a new six-high cold-finishing mill at Shanxi Northern Copper, in the province of Shanxi. The cold-finishing plant, designed for processing high-quality copper alloys, is equipped with advanced integrated technologies such as geometric optimization, automatic thickness control and a long-stroke shifting system for a wide range of products. For Shanxi Northern Copper, this installation represents an important step into its expansion into high-tech sectors such as 5G communications, new energy vehicles and aerospace. With a turnover of 1.3 billion euros and a dominant share in the electric furnace market (over 70%), in 2024 the Chinese market accounted for nearly one-third of the Group’s global revenue, reaffirming its leadership in sustainable steelmaking technology. Last December, the semi-annual revenues related to the area of Southeast Asia reached 702 billion euros, doubling the figure of the previous year. The success of Danieli Group in China is attributable to continuous innovation, energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.
