Recently, the Istituto Italiano dell’Enciclopedia Treccani and Shanghai Hantang Culture Development Co., Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Shanghai, marking a significant milestone in cultural collaboration between Italy and China. This partnership, supported by the Consulate General of Italy in Shanghai, coincides with the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the centenary of the Treccani Institute. The agreement includes the creation of a collector’s book titled La moda italiana, which explores the intertwined evolution of art and fashion in Italy. This limited edition, distinguished by a red velvet cover adorned with hand-embroidered Renaissance motifs, will be printed in just 150 copies, showcasing the excellence of Italian publishing tradition. “Treccani firmly believes in dialogue and cooperation between different cultures and nations: no distance is insurmountable when knowledge is shared,” emphasized Massimo Bray, Director General of the Treccani Institute. Bray emphasized that for the Institute, signing the agreement with a key partner in cultural exchange between East and West, such as Hantang Culture, represents a significant opportunity to merge their respective expertise. The publication of the book is part of a broader cooperation project that includes cultural events, international conferences, joint exhibitions, and educational initiatives. Among the flagship initiatives is the China-Italy Study Tour Program, a key project aimed at fostering cultural exchange between young generations from China and Italy through immersive and engaging educational experiences. Chinese participants will have the opportunity to explore Italy’s major cultural hubs, such as Rome, Florence, and Venice, visit the Treccani Institute headquarters, and take part in workshops and discussions with Italian scholars and artists. At the same time, Italian participants will be welcomed in Shanghai, where they will immerse themselves in Chinese culture, experience daily life, and deepen their understanding of local traditions, cuisine, and urban heritage.
